That wine was so beautiful...and the story so tragic...that sofaKing Tragic is now a staple on our tasting list - and soon to be a staple in your wine cellar!
2019 is now our 3rd vintage of sofaKing Tragic – and it just keeps getting better and better each year. In fact – note the pre-release award of Double Gold / Best in Class and 94-points awarded to it at the 2022 International Women’s Wine Competition! WOW – YOU GO WINEMAKER PAM!!!
sofaKing Tragic is NOT a normal “run-of-the-mill” Red Wine Blend that you’d find at any winery – but hey – we’re talking Adrice Wines, where nothing is normal about having upwards of 20 different award-winning wines on the tasting table – each and every one of them with a distinctive flavor profile. The 2019 sofaKing Tragic will not disappoint. You’re greeted with a light floral purple pansy nose, ripe sweet plum, and a tich of spice box. The 50/50 balance of higher-acid bright-fruit Cab Franc - blended with dark-fruit Malbec is totally on point in this vintage. Bright black cherry hits your palate first, and the integrated silky tannins coat your mouth in yumminess with the tartness of black plum skin, and then marionberry. sofaKing has a L-O-N-G juicy finish, and that empty, purple-stained glass will be begging for a refill faster than a pinched baby screams in church!
Pair this balanced medium-acid/medium-tannin wine with crispy pork carnitas, or with spicier foods like Thai BBQ Chicken, Carne Asada, Carolina Pulled Pork or some smoked paprika sausage.
sofaKing Tragic is always a hot seller. Until this vintage, we’ve never been sure if it was because of the name of the wine, the story behind the wine, the picture of the crying baby on the label….or the wine itself.
