Name Origin: Friends Blend The idea of naming a wine “Friends Blend” came from the amazing friends who have helped Pam & Julie make this winery dream possible. “Wine-ing” is a lot of hard work – but also filled with fun, and adventure. It seemed only fitting to create a wine that says Thank You to our friends for all your help and support. So here is to Connie, David G. David M., Jamie, Kevin, Mechelle, Julie F, Sheryl, and many more.
Occasionally, winemaker Pam produces a BERRY BOMB…and our 2019 Friends Blend Malbec Blend is “DA BERRY BOMB”!!! Friends Blend is a BIG Malbec – there are some hefty, tannic grapes in this well-integrated beauty. As your glass approaches your nose, you’re engulfed in ripe dark fruit smells of marionberry, black cherry, blackberry, and black plum. Layer in a tich of sweet pipe tobacco, and you’ll be waving your friends over to pour themselves a glass of “’DIS BERRY BOMB”.
In your mouth, enjoy a perfect balance of acids (the big juicy fruit) and tannins (the smooth, dry finish). See if you can pick up its savory finish of fresh herbs – a noteworthy quality in all three of these grapes. It’s SO FUN to get to enjoy a big, beautiful wine that celebrates both juicy black berry fruits and a long, smooth finish.
We’re craving a food pairing of a nice thick roast with mashed potatoes and gravy – or steak with chimichurri. Whatever you serve, make it as big and bold as our 2019 Friends Blend – and be sure to surround your table with those you love and hold close to your heart!
Oh…one last thing that makes our 2019 Friends Blend DA BOMB??? The fact that it’s already won a SILVER MEDAL in the 2022 Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition before it was even released!
