Our 2022 Sémillon is just as beautiful as her ’21 sister, except we have more of her (which is great news, since we sold out of the 2021 vintage in a few short weeks!)
This lovely dry wine is fruity – but not sweet – balanced, and bright. Breathe in the soft nose of ripe honeydew melon and chamomile. The honeydew carries onto your palate, and you’re greeted with a little green apple and lemon curd. Your whole palate will be delighted with this wine as its complexity coats your whole mouth. Similar to Leadfoot Louie – this Sémillon begs to be served a little warmer than ice cold….Sémillon truly expresses itself best a little warmer.
Prosciutto-wrapped melon and/or asparagus would be an excellent starter to pair with this wine. But hands down, our tasters craved an herb-roasted chicken. Maybe some scallops or sashimi? Or serve her beside a fresh apple pie with sharp cheddar melted on top.
While our ’22 Sémillon releases in the spring of 2023…this wine will shine throughout the summer and into Fall. If you can, save a bottle or two to serve on your Thanksgiving table – you’ll be the talk of the dinner for your excellent taste!
