Étouffant means “Sultry” in French, and Adrice Wines’ 2021 Étouffant Merlot is a “GO BIG OR GO HOME” Washington Merlot! This high-intensity wine envelops your nose in violets, spice box & sweet tobacco, and big, juicy red and dark fruits. Go BIG baby! On the palate, your mouth is coated in black cherry and berries for days – with an earthy, long, deep sweet tobacco finish. Sultry indeed! As you finish your swallow, we invite you to breathe in a big gulp of air across both your nose and mouth (yes – we’re asking you to be a mouth breather)…and you’ll be delighted to find a chocolate covered cherry finish! You tell us. We think this is one of the biggest, richest, most SULTRY Étouffant Merlots that Winemaker Pam has ever made (and this is her 5th vintage!)
