And now for our Wine of the Week! J2 (J Squared) Cabernet Franc!

Cab Franc is the parent variety of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and *may* have originated in the Basque Country of Spain, but there is some debate on that being a fact.

It does well in the vineyards of Eastern Washington because it is a hardy variety that can withstand the occasionally harsh winters in the Columbia Valley. It is also a late ripener, which means it can hang on the vines until nearly Halloween.

Winemakers appreciate it as a blending component because it's softer tannins can help bring some finesse to the bold tannin structures of Cab Sauv and Merlot.

Adrice Wines Cab Franc is sourced from Walla Walla, WA. Greeted with cherries, black fruit, black currants, and a warm spice box on the nose. Mouthwatering acidity on the front of the palate, and a mouthful of blackberries, black currant, herbs, and a spice at the end.  Sweet Paprika rounds out the end of your taste to a satisfying finish.

Come and enjoy some on this week's tasting list!
