Tasting Notes Adrice Release November 2024
Tasting Notes November 2024
2023 Alma Albariño
13.5% Alc. by volume
AVA: Columbia Valley, WA
100% Albariño
750ml
Alma is the Spanish word for soul. 2023 is the sixth vintage of our zesty Alma Albariño. Our popular Alma is available by the glass, bottle, and even on tap in the tasting room.
A Spanish grape by origin: Albariño is a light-bodied, higher-acidity white wine known for its dry and refreshingly tart flavors. Our 2023 Alma greets your nose with fragrant floral notes of honeysuckle, fresh ripe lime, peach, and Thai basil. Then, Alma fills your mouth with a balanced acidity structure and doubles down on the flavors of ripe lime, peach, and Thai basil. The wine finishes with a creamy lime tartness. One of our "juicy" wines, Alma's mouthwatering acidity arouses the roof of your mouth and mid-palate, and finishes with a touch of minerality that is typical of Albariños.
Wherever, and however you serve Alma, this beautiful, crisp wine was meant to be in your refrigerator ready to surprise you and your guests at any time.
Food: soft cheeses, apple/brie tart, pork with applesauce
2020 La Montagna Nebbiolo
14.5% Alc. by volume
Horse Heaven Hills AVA,
100% Nebbiolo
750ml
La Montagna (mountain) represents both the strength of the Italian Nebbiolo grape and what it takes to be a female winemaker in a male-dominated industry.
2020 marks Adrice Wines’ fourth vintage of Washington Nebbiolo. This wine leans toward the old-world style of a classic Italian Nebbiolo, and is considered one of Italy’s top food wines.
Translucent dark garnet in color, your nose is greeted with high-intensity aromas of an open spice box filled with cranberry, ripe plum, rose hips with flavors of sweet cherry, orange zest, and a hint of sweet fennel. On the mouth, you're greeted with balanced tannins and acidity that lead to a memorable finish. A real “Tuesday” wine, this bottle pairs with most anything you put on the table.
Food: Roast Chicken, pork chop, roast veggies, pizza
2020 sofaKing Tragic Malbec Blend
13.4% Alc. by volume
Columbia Valley, WA
50% Malbec / 50% Cabernet Franc
750ml
These are the exact words used when four barrels of our incredible 2017 sofaKing Tragic slipped off the forklift and crashed to the ground. That wine was so beautiful, and the story so tragic that sofaKing Tragic is now a staple on our tasting list - and soon to be a staple in your wine cellar!
sofaKing Tragic is not a normal “run-of-the-mill” red wine blend found anywhere else. The nose is complex with dark fruit, vanilla, and five spice powder. The unusual 50/50 blend of bright cherry forward Cab Franc with intense blackberry Malbec results in integrated tannins. A glass of this will fill your mouth with a storm of fruit and once empty, the purple-stained glass will beg for a refill.
Food: Duck, Lamb
2022 Montepulciano
13.50% Alc. by volume
Columbia Valley, WA-AVA
100% Montepulciano
750ml
We proudly announce the long-awaited return of Adrice Wine’s 100% Montepulciano. Our last Montepulciano release was the 2019 vintage. We’re proud to be one of only three to four wineries in Washington producing this Italian varietal. We’ve produced five vintages (to date) of this beautiful and balanced wine and if you’re one of our seasoned wine club members…you might still have this vertical (‘14 from California / ’16, ’17, ’19, '22 from Washington) in your cellar.
Expect to be greeted with an earthy nose which is typical of Montepulciano. You’re treated to aromas of violet perfume, roasted hazelnuts, a hint of pipe tobacco, and leather with a vanilla end. To experience the full potential, vigorously swirl in your glass to open up the bright, cherry flavors. The finish is long with creamy cocoa notes. This is a "sit in a comfy armchair with a good book" kind of wine.
Food: Sharp cheddar mac and cheese, roasted pork
2020 Friends Blend
15% Alc. by volume
Columbia Valley, WA AVA
57% Malbec / 28% Cabernet Sauvignon / 15% Petit Verdot
750ml
The idea of naming a wine “Friends Blend” came from the amazing friends who have helped make this winery dream possible. Winemaking is hard work – but also filled with levity, joy, and accomplishment. It seemed only fitting to create a wine that says thank you to our friends for all your help and support.
The 2020 vintage is a dark ruby-colored complex wine. A glass exudes aromas of Earl Grey tea, empty cigar boxes, and spice. As you drink it you may find a delicate flavor of rosewater in the midst of the dark fruit, nut, and cedar flavors. Open and savor with your friends!
Food: Semi-sweet baby back ribs, beef stew, coq au vin
2020 NOTORIOUS _ _ _ Cabernet Sauvignon
14% Alc. by volume
75% Cabernet Sauvignon & 25% Merlot
Columbia Valley, WA
750ml
Our respect and admiration for the Notorious RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsberg) goes on. Notorious _ _ _ is our invitation for you to claim your strength, boldly write your initials on this label, and continue on the positive path Ruth showed us. Share your story and this wine with friends, family, and others.
Our 3rd NOTORIOUS vintage is sophisticated and aging beautifully. Some vigorous swirls of your glass and you’re greeted with the high-intensity aromas of sweet spice box, rich dark fruits, and eucalyptus. The longer it sits, the better it gets. NOTORIOUS is voluptuous on the palate and the dark fruits are laser-focused. Look for a long finish filled with black plum, chocolate, and blackberry.
Food: Teriyaki, steak, stir fry
2020 Riveter Red - Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
14% Alc. by volume
AVA: Red Mountain
Vineyard: Quintessence
80% Cabernet Sauvignon / 15% Petit Verdot / 3% Merlot / 2% Syrah
750ml
Riveter Red recognizes the women who stepped up in World War II to keep the US strong. While Rosie the Riveter is the most recognized from the artwork series, we’ve selected Wendy the Welder for this Cab. In the original version, Wendy the Welder was toasting a cheese sandwich for lunch using her blowtorch. On our label, her welding gloves are still in her lap, and she’s holding a bottle to go with her grilled cheese.
Riveter Red never disappoints, the fifth vintage of our consistently stellar Cabernet has had two years in barrel and two years of bottle aging. Your nose is hit with red fruits like raspberry and black cherry before transitioning to more dark, luscious black fruits on the palate. It’s rounded out by French oak barrel qualities of chocolate, leather, and tobacco. A quick 20-minute decant before serving, and the beautifully balanced tannins will delight throughout dinner. This wine is drinking well now, and will also lay down well in your cellar – if you can wait.
Food: grilled meats, ratatouille, mushroom risotto, hearty cheeses like gruyere or parmesan
