Name Origin: - a wine to honor Pam's mom Helen Louise (aka - Leadfoot Louie)
2020 is the fifth vintage of our ever-loved Leadfoot Louie White Bordeaux Blend – made to honor winemaker Pam’s fast-driving mother Helen Louise Adkins. Helen was a special woman who was deeply loved by her community and especially by her gifted daughter Pamela (hence this wine named after her)!
We see five as a lucky number (and Helen was lucky as hell at the slots up at Cripple Creek Casino!) The human body seems to follow the number five: we have five fingers on each hand, and five toes on each foot. We also have five senses that come to life with this beautiful wine.
SIGHT: Your eyes see a beautiful golden-to-deep straw-colored wine.
SMELL: Your nose smells honeysuckle blossoms, tangerine, and the pop of spicy ginger.
TASTE: Your mouth tastes apricot, sweet basil and the aromatics of that spicy ginger carries through on your palate.
TOUCH: If your tongue could describe how this wine feels, it would say Leadfoot Louie displays a balanced body and acidity with a smooth flavor and beautiful legs.
HEARING: Right about now your ears may be hearing the squealing brakes of Helen Louise’s ‘55 T-bird convertible as it pulls up to the tasting room to pick up more Leadfoot Louie!
So use those five toes (even better if you use all 10) to hurry into the tasting room this coming weekend. Then use your five fingers to raise a glass of this beautiful summer wine to your lips. Then use your other five fingers to pull out your wallet and buy a bottle (or five)…cuz this stunner is going to go fast! Who knows, you might even get lucky like Helen Louise!
When you get Leadfoot Louie home – summer salads are beautifully paired with her. Consider a fig gorgonzola salad, Caprese salad, or a shaved brussels sprout salad with walnuts, pecorino, and vinaigrette. Or Halibut with citrus sauce would be outstanding! The 2020 Leadfoot Louie is definitely a food-worthy white!
