Well…Dexter the Winery Dog got his own label in “Dextérité”. Pam’s best friend David got a Petite Sirah in “Mon Frère”. Julie got a stunning cab in “JB Cab”…..and NOW (drum roll please……) We introduce you to, “PKA Cabernet Sauvignon”. Pam says it stands for “Patience, Kindness and Attitude” (as she corrects our new winery dog Dekker for the thousandth time today). Julie thinks it stands for “Pretty Kick-Ass”…and that’s exactly what this two-vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is!
Starting with the deep garnet color, you know you’re in for a treat with any 100% Cab that Winemaker Pamela Kay makes (think Reserve Cab, JB Cab, or even Carpe Diem for those of you in the know!) On the nose, we get baking spices, violets, cherry, berry jam, and oak. Immediately taste a full-bodied cherry and black plum beauty with a finish of pipe tobacco (all qualities of Washington Cabs). You’ll get big tannins in the mid-palate and along the outside edges of your tongue – but the luscious flavor keeps you coming back for more. Yes – this wine is Pretty Kick-Ass!
What else do you serve with a nice big PKA Cab than a nice big steak? We honestly have nothing more to say, other than Pamela Kay has done it again. There are very limited supplies of this wine…so get yours soon before it’s gone.
