Our 2018 GSM is the 2nd vintage of this superb Washington Rhône blend. The Alchemist is a medium-body, medium-intensity stunner. Give it a good swirl to really open it up - she has a beautiful balance of acids to alcohol. The predominant Grenache grapes bestow this wine's herbal qualities of medicinal herbs, oregano, sage, and a tich of white pepper - and red fruits of raspberry, cranberry, and cherry. The bold backbone of Syrah grapes gives the wine muscle and fills the mid-palate with darker fruit flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and pleasant spiciness of cinnamon and clove. And the Mourvèdre grapes form the front and back bookends of the blend by creating both the color presentation of translucent medium-ruby and a soft tannic finish of fig, ripe plum, and a tich of black pepper.
Pair our GSM with Spring Salad with Bosc Pear slices and Gorgonzola crumbles; Braised Lamb with Potatoes; most any Mediterranean food; Mexican Chile con Carne; or Grilled Peaches wrapped in Prosciutto.
