2017 Malbec (750ml)
2017 Washington Malbec
12.75% Alc. by volume
AVA: Columbia Valley, WA
Let’s start with how to pronounce Malbec (because it’s confusing sometimes). The French pronounce this Nobel red grape “maal-bec” (emphasis on MAL – like it’s bad or something!) Everyone else in the world pronounces is: “mol-bek” (like “mole” with the emphasis on the “BEK”. We prefer GOOD wines – not “bad” wines…so we introduce to you our 2017 Malbec (pronounced: Adrice Mol-bek) from Columbia Valley. This beautiful fruit-forward nectar graces your nose with notes of red plum and dark-berried fruit. You’ll notice a light thread of white pepper across both your nose and palate in this medium-finish wine. On your tongue, she displays red fruits of plum, raspberry and dried cranberry - followed by cloves, vanilla (from the barrel) and herbaceous green tea and yerba mate. We’ve been SO excited to share this beautiful wine with you since we sold out of our last gorgeous Malbec!
Our 2017 Malbec pairs well with – of all things – Dubliner cheddar mac-n-cheese (or really most cheeses for that matter). Its moderate tannins lean toward leaner red meats, lamb with mint or Carolina pulled pork…. because that trace of white pepper will pair beautifully with warm food. For our vegetarian friends – back to that mac-n-cheese – or perhaps four-cheese ravioli smothered in a roasted red pepper cream sauce. Enjoy!
