2020 Secondo Amore Syrah Rosé (750ml)
2020 Secondo Amore Washington Syrah Rosé
12.5% Alc. by volume
Les Collines Vineyard
AVA: Walla Walla, WA
Name Origin: Secondo Amore means "second love" in Italian. While we believe every wine drinker has their personal "first love" when it comes to wine....we expect Secondo Amore Rosé will soon be your "second love"!
Our wine club members loved our club member exclusive 2019 Secondo Amore Syrah Rosé so much, that winemaker Pam graced us with double the quantity of this amazing Syrah Rosé in the 2020 Vintage. Secondo Amore will be our lone Rosé on the tasting table during the spring and summer of 2021 - meaning...it will likely sell out quickly...and here's why...
Many expect Rosés to be light, pale, and sweet (which is why some skip them for the more tannic reds). But "al contrario mio amico" (on the contrary, my friend), Secondo Amore is a full-bodied, vivid, floral, fruit bomb of a Rosé! Prima - the color. Isn't that a gorgeous brick orange/red hue? Pam left the skins on this Les Collines Vineyard Syrah just the perfect amount of time to give it this amazing tint and an even more stunning nose. Secondo - the nose. Can you pick up lavender flowers, potpourri, and orange? If you swirl a bit more, the dark fruits typical of Syrah begin to unveil themselves. Infine (finally) - draw a mouthful of this luscious juice across your lips, and you will undoubtedly discover your second love. The dark fruits of black currant, boysenberry, blackberry, and blueberry - along with a tich of earl grey and sweet tobacco deliver a creamy finish and fill your head with thoughts of love for great wine that will keep you coming back for more of Pam's bei vini (beautiful wines).
You can go in so many directions when pairing Secondo Amore with food. Consider crab legs, steamed lobster with butter, or sesame ginger-crusted seared Ahi Tuna steaks. Know too, that because it's a Syrah, you can also pair it with grilled meats, vegetables, or even hamburgers. And of course - it will pair beautifully with umami cheeses like Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, Asiago, or Manchego.
Similar to our 2020 Alma Albariño, Secondo Amore should be served a tich warmer than your typical white or Rosé - closer to the 50-degree mark. That's when the floral/fruity nose and rich dark flavors are at their best. Snuggle up to your first love with our second love - Secondo Amore Rosé.
