Diamondback Ridge & Stillwater Creek Vineyards
AVA: Yakima Valley, WA
85% Grenache / 10% Petit Verdot / 5% Merlot
15.0% Alc. by volume
Name Origin: Alegría means JOY in Spanish, and wait till you taste this amazingly beautiful wine – it will bring JOY to both your mouth and your life!
Pam & Julie moved up to Washington in 2015 from Napa/Sonoma, CA…and brought up with them their first vintage of 2014 Alegría from Napa. OMG – it was beautiful – and Julie got to name the wine because not only did she feel that the wine brought her JOY – but she wanted to bring more JOY to her life and others’ every time she poured a taste of this beautiful elixir.
Alegría greets you with that ever-famous Washington Merlot nose of jammy fruit, black cherry, lilac, violet, cinnamon, and clove. Sporting a medium ruby dress (color), on the palate the typical soft roundness of Pam’s style greets you with cherry, blackberry, barrel qualities of vanilla, good acidity, and beautiful legs. It’s weird to describe a wine as “chewy”…but Alegría surely is as she coats your mid-palate and makes you yearn for more!
Alegría pairs well with all types of food – from sushi, to pizza, to red meats. She’ll pair beautifully with hearty dishes like cassoulet, and will match well with less spicy styles of Asian cooking.
Do yourself a favor and bring home some Alegría to share with friends and family – because who doesn’t want more JOY in their lives?
