AVA: Columbia Valley, WA

100% Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot (or "small green") is known more commonly as a blending grape - but again, Winemaker Pam felt like our 2016 grapes were noteworthy and that they could speak for themselves to produce this beautiful, full wine. Kent at Sagemore Vineyards took a chance on Adrice Wines when we first moved to Washington, and let us in the door in 2016. For that, we're thankful. They continue to partner with us on this and several other varietals and we hope our wines stay true to the varietal and the AVA and make them proud. We're sure proud of this beautiful wine!
Our Petit Verdot greets you with violets and dried herbs on the nose. This subtle combination encourages you to dig deeper into the wine. See if you can taste dark chocolate, black cherry, blueberry/blackberry jam on the palate with smoked meat and licorice as secondary flavors. The legs are gorgeous. When you taste this wine, it's a big surprise how both strong and soft it is at the same time. We taste a fruit bomb - it's not soft - but BIG! It doesn't have a super-long finish, and because of the high tannins and moderately-high acidity, our Petit Verdot goes great with bigger meats and fall comfort foods.
